Home Away from Home: Montigo Resorts

Learn to relax. Your body is precious, as it houses your mind and spirit. Inner peace begins with a relaxed body.  –  Norman Vincent Peale

Montigo Resorts in Batam is a perfect weekend getaway idea from Singapore. It is only a 55-minute ferry ride away and there are lots to explore and experience in the island. One of the resorts in Batam is Montigo Resorts — it’s like a home away from home where you can loosen up and unwind from a hectic work week.

Home Away From Home

The perfect blend of nature and luxury living is incorporated into each and every three-storey 2-bedroom villa with spacious master bedroom and an open-air master bathroom where you can indulge a warm floral bath; a huge living room where you can dance like nobody’s watching; a private sea-facing infinity pool where you can meditate whilst smelling the humidity in the air, seeing the mist rise in the morning; a sky terrace, where you can have a blissful panoramic view of the sea, have a romantic candlelight dinner or a bbq while drinking your favorite red wine or beer; an al fresco dining terrace and kitchenette where you can make your own favorite meal.

Though nothing’s really spectacular about the beach but you can have some adrenaline rush by taking the water sports activities such as banana boat, jet ski, wake-boarding, snorkeling, knee boarding, kayaking, water skiing, and fishing too.

Of course, my most favorite part was lazying on bed while listening to my favorite music, soaking in the warm infinity pool while watching the stunning views of the horizon and mesmerizing sunset facing the villa.

It was completely feeling at home! I love the contemporary and minimalistic facade of the resort – it invokes a quintessentially Greek vibe which I like the most. The architectural pleasing white villas beautifully contrast with the azure blue Nongsa waters amidst the surrounding beach landscapes.

Recharge Your Body

Remember when you go to the resort or any of your weekend getaway, you have to recharge your body, go for the spa therapy. We chose the popular local massage – you’ll never go wrong with the Central Javanese Lulur scrub,  uses rice powder, milk, turmeric and ginger. Aside from massage, you can also go for nail and hair treatment. As in overall holistic therapy – so rejuvenating and relaxing!

And there’s more after the spa, the staff will bring you to the mini-library where you can sip your favorite tea while reading books.

Dine and Wine

There are three (3) restaurants, cafe and bar in Montigo Resorts. Tadd’s, Tiigo and Pantai.

Tadd’s is the main resort’s restaurant where you can have your buffet breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Serving local, Asian and Western comfort cuisine in a relaxed semi al-fresco poolside setting. They also offer dinner packages and definitely have bar to serve you with your favorite drinks.

Tiigo beach club is situated next to the swimming pool where you can unwind in the comfort of shaded outdoor loungers, at the sand park or on the cabana beds, as you lazily gaze out at the magical Montigo sunset. At night, you can dance to the reggae and pop music with your cocktails.

Pantai means “beach” in Bahasa. If you’re craving for fresh seafood then this is the place you have to experience. It’s adjacent to the main lobby, has intimate kelong-style restaurant, tucked away in a cocoon of natural beauty, a gentle breeze and the soft sway of trees.

Whether you’re a couple looking for a romantic holiday, a family searching for a safe and serene vacation while making sure your children won’t get bored, a group of very active and adventurous young people planning for your next escapade, or simply someone who wants some peace and quiet while enjoying a spectacular view of the mighty sea, the resort made sure to have something for you!
