There’s no better way to celebrate once in a while with your friends and family than indulging in Singapore’s best buffets! I’ve selected up the top 5 international buffet restaurants whether it’s feasting on quality international dishes with friends and colleagues, having a tête-à-tête with your best friend over dainty treats or splurging on a luxurious seafood.
#1 The Line at Shangri-la Hotel
It has been a while since I’ve had the pleasure of dining at The Line. This all-day dining restaurant is located at Shangri-La Hotel along Orange Grove Road. It provides a nice and graceful atmosphere which makes it an ideal venue for any occasion, family gatherings or business meetings.
Start off your feast with some salad. There is a good range of salads on rotation such as chick pea salad, smoked eel salad, salmon nicoise salad, Thai papaya salad, Greek salad, mango salad, caesar salad and much more!
For a seafood lovers you will enjoy the range of delicacies offered on the ice bar. Oysters are clearly the main highlight here and they are freshly shucked. You will also enjoy fresh prawns, spinner crabs, mussels and sea scallops. Just drizzle some Tabasco and you are ready to savour them all.
To cap off a sumptuous dinner, you have to indulge in mouth-watering desserts ranging from nyonya kuehs to mousses, crepes, cookies, pastries, cakes and ice creams. Never forget creme brûlée!

#2 Rise at Marina Bay Sands
It’s been years since the last time I had impeccable dining experience at Rise. It has great selections from the Asian to Western cuisines with 7 themed nights a week, every night is a sumptuous surprise.
There are tons of dining options within the Marina Bay Sands integrated resort, yet it’s always worth a try to experience different style and taste.
My favourite dish that made my buffet complete was the famous Singapore Chili Crab! Rise has its own secret sweet and spicy chili sauce, which you can enjoy with the fried mantau.
What I love about Rise is they have edible garden just outside the dining area. The herb garden grows about 30 to 50 varieties, and the most commonly used are mint, basil, thyme, oregano, sage and rosemary. Isn’t that amazing!?
Overall, it’s a gorgeous place to spend a few hours indulging in good bites and drinks. Rise restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily.

#3 Todai Sushi and Seafood Restaurant
It has been an unforgettable dining experience at Todai because it was a birthday celebration of my colleague. Luckily, I had the chance to dine here before it was closed. It was located in a quiet corner of basement two at The Shoppes Marina Bay Sands (closed for relocation or renovation I guess).
The original Todai was created by two businessmen – a Korean and a Japanese – in California in 1985, and they have been growing steadily ever since and have over 20 branches worldwide; they serve a wide variety of dishes ranging from cold dishes including sushi (maki, nigiri, gunkan) to signature dishes like snow crab legs, green mussels and cocktail shrimp.
My favourite here was the juicy and sweet Alaskan King crab plus the sushis and sashimis! I’ve never tasted those Alaskan King Crabs in other restaurants.

#4 Town Restaurant at Fullerton
If you have been away or you’re going to be away from Singapore for some time and need to fill up on local fare, this will be an excellent place to have a gathering with friends and family.
You can choose to sit indoors decorated in the classic “Fullerton Hotel” European look and comfort, or dine alfresco to enjoy some breeze and view, especially during night time.
While Town serves International cuisine with a focus on local, Japanese and Italian, I highly suggest to try these items — the signature Town laksa, freshly made prata, kueh pie tee, rojak, chicken curry and satay among other local faves.
By the way, don’t forget to save room for dessert. They have vast selections of local to western desserts. You can try chendol, it’s nice! The nonya kuehs were balanced in their flavours, not too sweet, moist and freshly made, just the way it should be. The tiramisu too, being adequately infused in alcohol and decadent.
And yes, don’t forget to dip your skewers of fruits and marshmallows at the chocolate fondue fountain after the heavy buffet.

#5 Makan@Jen
Located at Level 10 of the hotel in the heart of Orchard Road, Makan@Jen is designed to cater to the new generation of diners who want convenience, comfort and an ambiance that is not only inspiring but worth sharing on social network. The restaurant has a spacious stylish dining hall as well as an alfresco terrace deck which I and my friends like the most. Indeed, our hideout for quite sometime.
With a variety of cooking stations, make-your-own salad options, local temptations and international treats – it’s definitely worth the price though.
I love seafood paella here! You should try. Besides the seafood dishes, the desserts selection definitely is the highlight of this buffet. Compared to other hotels’ buffets, the desserts choices at Makan@Jen are plentiful and quite interesting.
